Research commissioned to mark this year’s 4th National Carbon Footprint Day found that the main underground line service to the Olympic Stadium, the Jubilee line, is burning hundreds of thousands of watts of unnecessary lighting during daylight hours, with less than a year to go to the Olympics.

1,565 Carbon Labels Unveiled on National Carbon Footprint Day! |

On National Carbon Footprint Day (2 October), leading hard landscaping firm Marshalls unveiled 1,565 official carbon labels for all its commercial paving products.
This will enable public bodies and local authorities to understand the amount of carbon dioxide equivalent emitted from extracting and processing raw materials, manufacturing, distributing, and disposing of these products.
Chris Harrop, Group Marketing Director at Marshalls, said: “We couldn’t be unveiling our commercial carbon labels on a better day than National Carbon Footprint Day. This is a great continuation of a very ambitious carbon reduction programme for Marshalls.

 Well it has finally arrived.!!
Today being the world's second National Carbon Footprint Day, email reminders were sent out for the first time, to all those who signed up over the last year, for an annual reminder email to take their meter readings and to record them on their own personal online meter record-sheet.
This will enable them to go to their own favourite carbon calculator and to then enter their own total carbon footprint into their record sheet. As the years go by, they will be able to easily see how they are making progress towards a low carbon lifestyle.
